Semele by George Frederic Handel
Following last year’s performance of Britten’s The Turn of the Screw, don’t miss this mythological tale of the mortal Semele, in her seductive quest to attain immortality from the god Jupiter. Semele contains some of the most beautiful and famous arias in all of baroque literature, including Where’er you walk and Endless Pleasure. Directed by Mark Kaczmarczyk and sung in English in an updated production featuring the students of the University of Oregon School of Music.
Spring 2002. Dates to be announced.
